How to choose between laminate & hardwood flooring

Choosing the right flooring can be a stressful and long drawn out procedure. However, it needn't be. A little bit of research can go a long way in making the process easier.

Factor 1Where is the floor going to be installed?

Depending on the moisture levels and the level of use the floor will encounter, your options will change. i.e. If the area will encounter a lot of moisture, then non-wood flooring would be a better bet. However, there are some waterproof laminate flooring options available which can be used.

Factor 2What is your budget?

If you have a lower budget, then laminate and bamboo flooring are your best bet. A slightly higher budget would open the door to hardwood engineered floors. And if you have an open-ended budget, then premium timber lines would be best.

Factor 3Will you be installing this yourself?

For an easy DIY experience, laminate flooring is still king as it's as simple as clicking planks together like Lego. In most cases you can perform the installation yourself however our professional layers can install them for you within a short space of time. If you don't wish to use the DIY approach then Timber can be laid down by our pro layers.
